Bocas Bali by Nayara Bocas del Toro, Panama Project Overview: Bocas Bali is a lodge located in Bocas del Toro, Panama, undergoing an expansion project to add deluxe water units. As the interior designer, I collaborated closely with the local architectural firm and the client to ensure the new units seamlessly integrated with the existing lodge while enhancing the overall interior design. Scope of Work: Design Collaboration: Worked closely with the architect and client to ensure the new units aligned with the existing lodge's architectural style and design standards. Interior Design Development: Created interior design concepts for the deluxe water units, focusing on comfort, luxury, and a seamless connection to the natural surroundings. Custom Furniture and Casework: Designed and developed custom furniture and casework pieces to meet the specific needs of the project and enhance the overall aesthetic. Technical Drawings: Prepared detailed technical drawings for the custom furniture and casework to guide the fabrication process. Procurement: Collaborated with a local procurement agent to source locally crafted furnishings, fixtures, and equipment (FF&E). Specifications and Samples: Developed detailed specification sheets for materials and finishes, and compiled sample boxes for client review. Visualizations: Rendered 3D views using Twinmotion to effectively communicate the design concepts to the client and stakeholders. Key Challenges and Solutions: Integration with Existing Lodge: Carefully considered the existing lodge's design elements and materials to ensure a cohesive and harmonious transition. Local Sourcing: Leveraged local resources to support the community and incorporate authentic Panamanian elements into the design. Custom Design: Successfully designed and developed custom furniture and casework that complemented the overall aesthetic and met functional requirements.
